The Spirit and Water

The Spirit of God is associated frequently in Scripture. Both are aspects of New Birth.

Genesis 1:2
The Spirit of God hovers over the waters of the Creation.

Exodus 14:19, 22
The People of Isreal are led through the waters of the Red Sea and the Spirit of God, birthing the Nation of Israel

Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:33
Jesus recieved the Spirit when the was baptized.

John 3:5
One must be born of the water and the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2
Paul describes the Israelites as being baptized in the cloud (the Spirit of God) and he sea (Water)

1 Corinthians 12:13
“In one Spirit we were all baptized into one body”
